Shelley Halima is a writer who was born in Charlotte, NC and raised in
Detroit, MI.
Currently reading:
Blinding Mirror is her third novel. Her two previous novels
were Azùcar Moreno (one of Amazon's bestselling books in Latino
literature) and Los Morenos. Currently she is working on Crimson
Mirror's the follow up to Blinding Mirror and the upcoming horror/suspense
anthology Night Gypsy: A Journey into Darkness set to be released in
September 2012.
In 2009 Shelley founded the production company Indie
Gypsy; a company dedicated to multicultural projects in film, music and
books. Shelley's screenplay Azùcar (based on her first novel) is in
development for the silver screen and will be produced in part by Indie
Gypsy.
Slated to star are actors Janet Hubert (Fresh Prince), Christian
Keyes, (Madea Goes to Jail), Charles Divins (Half and Half, Passions),
Venida Evans (Brown Sugar, Transamerica, HBO's Treme) , Jo Mani (Pastor
Jones, He Who Finds a Wife 2), Gano Grills, (Cadillac Records, In Too
Deep, Oz).
Shelley is also a lyricist and one of her songs Let it Flow was
produced and performed by Devin Johnson, a former American Idol contestant
who was recently signed to Universal Motown.
